A great starting point to find out what meal plan is right for you is to find out what your blood type is. This is a healthy and great way to know generally what foods are possibly better for you than others.
Food and nutrition are an essential component of living a healthy lifestyle, weight loss and to some extent, slowing down the aging process. But, as with all the meal plans out there, choosing the right one is confusing and if you don’t choose the right one then the effects aren’t as optimal as expected. Here is an answer to the eternal question of which diet meal plan is right for you, will give you optimal energy, and help you to lose the weight and be healthy? The meal plan depends on your blood type, there is a direct relationship between the food you eat and your blood type. Your blood and the food you eat react to each other, this reaction is caused by the lectins or protein in the food, according to the book Eat Right For Your Type (Complete Blood Type Encyclopedia) by Dr. Peter J. D’Adamo. Lectins have properties that make red blood cells clump together. So when you eat food incompatible with your blood type, the lectin targets organs or bodily systems such as digestion or absorption that cause clumping of blood cells in that area. In eating particular foods, either carbohydrates, proteins or fats, your body reacts differently, causing lethargy, headaches or bloating. With the blood type meal plan, you eat foods that are compatible with your blood type. Plan your meals depending on your blood type, here are the list of diet plans that correspond to each blood type:
Type O blood meal plan for optimal energy and weight loss is the Paleo diet. The diet consists of meat (red or white), vegetables and fruits. Wheat, grains, legumes and beans should be avoided. Food that will help boost weight loss efforts are kelp (seaweeds), red meat, liver, kale, spinach and broccoli. These foods are compatible with the blood type O, which means easy absorption and optimal energy giving nutrients.
Type A blood people should stick to vegetarian meals. If you belong to this type, a vegetarian diet consisting of soy foods, vegetables and pineapples is suggested for weight loss. Avoid eating meat, lima and kidney beans, dairy and wheat.
Type B blood people should stick to a balanced omnivore meal plan. Plan your meals with meat except for chicken, and add grains, legumes, beans, vegetables and fruits. Although wheat is a grain, it’s best not to eat this and stick to non-glutenous grains such as rice, quinoa, millet and oats. Avoid eating lentils, corn, peanuts, sesame and other seeds, buckwheat and wheat.
Type AB blood meal plan consists of everything in moderation. But stay away from these foods for weight loss, red meat, kidney and lima beans, seeds, corn and buckwheat. These food’s lectins are not compatible with this blood type. Tofu, seafood, dairy, greens, kelp and pineapples are optimal food for weight loss.
Start by knowing your blood type and plan your meals accordingly and see good results such as fewer occurrences of headaches, healthy weight loss and more energy. For more information on the blood type diet check out the book Eat Right for Your Type by Dr. D’Adamo.
